ITAR FAQs

ITAR Frequently Asked Questions

Why is AIAA now organizing ITAR sessions/permitting ITAR restricted information to be presented?

By adding ITAR sessions to AIAA forums, we are expecting to improve the quality of AIAA events as we move toward our New Event Model. This will allow us the ability to cater to many of those in our profession who are not able to present their work in completely open forums, while at the same time, sponsoring our usual set of open sessions. We will prototype the process for including these types of sessions in our events at the AIAA AVIATION Conference in 2014.

How do I submit an abstract for an ITAR paper?

Go to the appropriate forum website and click the “Paper Info/Submit” button located at the top of the page, and then the red “Submit A Paper” button. If not already logged into AIAA you will be prompted to do so. If you do not have an account with AIAA, you may create one at this time. You do not need to become a member of AIAA nor is there any fee. After you have logged into AIAA, the ScholarOne Abstracts submission site will open. Click the Submission tab and follow the instructions as you would to submit an abstract for any AIAA event. Under Presentation type, please choose ITAR Paper, and include the words (consider for ITAR session) in the abstract title. Follow all other steps as if you were submitting any abstract.

Should my abstract be ITAR restricted?
