SpaceX To Livestream Lunar Passenger Flight Using Starlink Constellation

20 September 2018
SPACE reports on SpaceX’s announcement that businessman Yusaku Maezawa will fly on the company’s first planned flight around the Moon. The “Lunar BFR Mission” could launch as early as 2023. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted Tuesday that the “mission will be livestreamed in high def VR, so it’ll feel like you’re there in real-time minus a few seconds for speed of light.” When asked how SpaceX would be able to stream a high-definition broadcast so far from Earth, Musk “said the company’s new Starlink communications satellites could handle the load.” (Image Credit: Associated Press–©)
